Introduction

Technically, this is gonna be my first post.

My previous posts were just copy+paste from my old Multiply Site. Ngayun lang talaga. As in ngayon. Promise.

Glen Emerson Tiopez. That's my name. My Mom told me glen means a small valley and she got the Emerson from one of her favorite poets, Ralph Waldo Emerson. I'm not sure why most people misspell Glen to Glenn. Double N?

"Check your names on the board"
"Miss Joy, my name shouldn't be spelled with double N"
"What's the correct spelling then?"
"G-L-E...triple N"

I'm 25. Quarter life crisis at its finest.
I started playing in a band in college. I called it The Hoyers. My band mates there were Bonn and Jojo, just classmate friends whom I convinced to play bass and drums. We sounded crap because they learned playing those instruments the time we started the band. Funny thing was, one song of ours became kinda popular in school. That song was called Under 18. The song's first line was "tinunaw mo ko na parang yelo".

In December 2007, I reunited with my High School friend Miguel. We formed a band and I called it The Eighteens.

This is the original line up:
Me(rhythm guitars), Gian(bass), Miguel(lead guitars), JayR(drums)

Current line up: Me(rhythm guitars), Paul(bass), Miguel(lead guitars), JanJan(drums)

I'm currently working on a solo project now. I'm recording songs using my computer, Fender acoustic Guitar, Ibanez electric guitar and Casio keyboard. It's almost done. I haven't thought of the album title yet though. And also the album artwork. My bandmate Miguel released his own solo project. He calls himself there, Happy Monday People and the album We Toast Our Glass To Better Days.

I was thinking if I'm gonna give myself an "indie sounding name" name like Miguel did but I guess I'll be sticking to Glen Tiopez.

That's what's keeping me busy these days.

You?
